Fireglow

Acer palmatum Group: Red

An impressive and reliable cultivar. a vigorous, upright, well-branched shrub, similar to the popular Bloodgood. The leaves are not as deeply divided. Has a deeper more intense red colour which stays throughout the summer even in very hot, sunny conditions. The new leaves emerge a very bright pink-red in the spring before turning a deep red. The upper surface retains its colour well into late summer and does not burn in hot sun. The foliage becomes purple-red suffused with green

by early fall. The name Fireglow describes the eye-catching effect when the leaves are backlit

by the sun.
