The variety best known to the public for it’s vivid red colour, this tree is extremely popular. Name

is now applicable to any markedly red leafed seedling, although on most, the leaves turn green

to one degree or the other in summer and back to red in the autumn. Grows to be a small bushy tree with deep purple leaves which become bright red in autumn. Can be planted in full sun

or partial shade.
